In the centre of Keswick, the 4-star rated Dorchester House provides high-quality bed and breakfast in this popular Lake District town. Around 10 minutes’ walk from the Theatre by the Lake, this guest house offers an impressive breakfast menu and also has free Wi-Fi.
Each room has a flat-screen TV, radio alarm clock and tea and coffee facilities including biscuits and hot chocolate. All rooms have an en suite bath or shower, with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries.
Dorchester House serves a vegetarian or full English breakfast, with Cumberland sausages, Danish bacon and free-range eggs. There is organic porridge, yoghurt, homemade jams and fruit salad, as well as cereals, toast and Fairtrade tea and coffee.
By Derwent Water, the Theatre by the Lake offers regular cultural events, and other town centre attractions include the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and the Cumberland Pencil Museum. Within a 15-20 minute drive, you will find the Honister Slate Mine and Whinlatter Forest Park, and the town also hosts annual jazz and film festivals.
